  14. Tool Details

    Text Tool

Type any text, choose from 7 font sizes (10px to 32px), pick from 5 colors, then click on the page to place it.

    Pen / Freehand Drawing

Draw freely with your mouse. Adjust line width (1–8px) and color. Great for circling items, underlining, or adding handwritten-style marks.

    Highlight

Drag a rectangle over text to apply a semi-transparent colored overlay — just like a physical highlighter.

    Rectangle

Draw outlined boxes around content areas for emphasis or grouping.

    Arrow

Draw arrows from one point to another — perfect for "look here" callouts.

    Redact / Hide

Cover any area with an opaque black or white box. Once saved, the hidden content is permanently obscured.

    Privacy

All annotation happens in your browser. Your PDF never leaves your device. No account required, no data stored on servers.

    FAQ

Is this the same as the Edit PDF tool?

Yes — the Annotate PDF and Edit PDF tools share the same feature set. Both pages provide identical functionality.

    Can I annotate scanned PDFs?

Yes. Since annotations are drawn on top of the page image, they work on any PDF — scanned or digital.

    Do annotations increase file size?

Minimally. Text and shape annotations add very little to the file size.
